Happy Summer Reading!
The Mighty Eagles' Summer Reading ChallengeKids who read beat the summer slide--loss of academic achievement after the summer break. Research shows that the more time students spend reading or being read to, the better they perform overall and on standardized achievement tests.
Reading is a FUNdamental skill necessary for the success of our students. Parents, please encourage your child(ren) to read as much as possible over the summer. To promote the joy and love of reading, we have launched the 2016 Mighty Eagles' Summer Reading Challenge. Students who read 25, 50 or 125 books or more will earn a prize. The top readers will have a chance to ride in a limousine and go out for a shake. They will also be entered into a drawing for a Nook. Age and grade appropriate books may be accessed for free via Mackinvia (School name, lunch number and birthday required) Open ebooks (Pass codes and pins were sent home before Spring Break), myOn (See information to the right) the Atlanta Public Library, or for purchase from your local book store.
